Mouth Watering Foods
We, Bangladeshis are known as Bhojon-rasik, eternal food lovers. The spectrum of our food choice is as varied as our cultural history. We party with the Mughlai dishes of Biriani, Koftas and kababs; but we crave for the rural bhaji, bhorta, dal and fish curries. Ah! And don’t even mention our sweets, the Mistis: Chamcham, kalojam, doi, paish, khirpuria or rashamali. Picture these and if these are not already getting your mouth watery, there is something wrong with you!

Every little area or upo-zilla in Bangladesh seem to have traditional difference in their cooking style, in composition and taste of their food. To make this even more diverse, we tend to improvise and assimilate with what we get here in America. Our sisters and mothers (not leaving behind the contribution of our men) have found ways to create new varieties of taste with the ingredients we get here. Those are not always the same as we are used to, but the combination creates an altogether different taste and décor.

In the Houston FOBANA, you will get a chance to taste the varieties of food, offered by both professional and amateur cooks alike. May be, you can offer something special: may be Pithas or snacks; meat curry or vegetable korma: and we guarantee that the queue will be long to taste the difference. After all, to us Bangladeshis, food is the way to make friendships last. Come to our Friendly FOBANA and let your taste buds record the sweet memory!
